INFORMATION FOR PARENTS

Mother and Child
Since school age children are in group settings, they are more likely to get all types of flu.

  • Prevent the flu by getting them immunized for seasonal flu and H1N1
  • H1N1 Flu symptoms include: fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue; occasionally vomiting and diarrhea.
  • If your child has influenza-like symptoms, keep your child at home for at least 24 hours after their fever is gone; be sure child gets plenty of rest and fluids.
  • Avoid spreading the flu to others by covering mouth and nose when sneezing or coughing, washing hands often and wiping surfaces in contact with sick child with disinfectant.
