Environmental Health Report Card for 2008 Released
Public Health Madison and Dane County (PHMDC) is pleased to announce the publication of the 2008 edition of the Madison and Dane County Environmental Health Report Card. The Report Card presents a vivid snapshot of the collective environmental successes and challenges in Madison and Dane County, covering such key environmental issues as manganese and nitrates in drinking water, fine particulates and carbon dioxide in the air, lead paint in homes, microbial contamination of food, and sustainable usage of water and land resources. This report is composed of data from many sources including city, county, state, federal and private agencies. The information has been compiled to provide an accurate and accessible document that will be useful for health professionals, academics, and the general public. This was the first of these reports to evaluate sustainability efforts of Madison and Dane County. -END-
