Musical Contribution part of Local H1N1 Prevention Efforts
Major H1N1 prevention efforts by Public Health are being made this weekend at the Saturday EMS clinics around Dane County as well as at the Monday clinic at the Alliant Energy Center. With the holidays approaching, families will be gathering to share good cheer. H1N1 vaccinations will help make sure that these gatherings do not become opportunities to share the flu. This is an important opportunity for area residents in the current CDC target groups to get the H1N1 vaccination. The clinic also offers the opportunity for kids under ten who have received their first H1N1 vaccine to get their second dose. H1N1 Targeted Community Immunization Clinic Monday, December 14, 11:00 am - 7:00 pm Exhibition Hall at the Alliant Energy Center This clinic is for: ? Pregnant women ? People who live with or care for infants less than 6 months of age ? Children and young adults 6 months - 24 years of age ? Persons aged 25 through 64 years who have underlying health conditions that put them at higher risk of medical complications from influenza ? Children under 10 needing their second dose of H1N1 vaccine (This includes those children who received their first dose at the November 17 and 18th Alliant Energy Center immunization clinics. The CDC recommends 21days or more between the first and second dose.) Immunizations are free and on a first come, first serve basis. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. People are encouraged to download and fill out the consent form and bring it with them to the clinic. The group, "Next of Kin" found themselves sneezing during a rehearsal and got the idea for the flu prevention jingle.
